Anna Lee is a CA licensed acupuncturist, herbalist and aesthetician who has been practicing since 2004. She received a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicines and applied science degrees in both Medical Aesthetics and Clinical Massage from Saint Paul College. She has since retired from massage therapy (and teaching yoga!) to fully dedicate her skills to aesthetics, acupuncture, and herbal medicine.
Originally born in Jeonju, Korea, Anna was adopted into a loving family when she was 6 months old. Her American mother worked at a bookstore every summer and Anna spent much of her childhood there, pouring over books about skincare and health. Noticing her obsession, her mother brought Anna to get her first facial at the age of 12, and encouraged her enthusiasm for researching and trying new products.
In 2015 Anna met her biological Korean mother and learned that while she was pregnant with her, she was working as a beautician teaching women how to take care of their skin. She also discovered that she came from a long line of health care professionals, and that her given Korean name, Mee Ra, means ‘to grow up to be beautiful.’ Anna is grateful to both of her mothers for instilling and supporting her passions.
In addition to seeing patients, Anna has been making skincare products since 2004. In 2015, she began working with a chemist to refine and produce her products on a larger scale—still handmade in small batches. Mee Ra Rituals evokes self love, combining East Asian Medicine and Western Science in a 2 minute skincare ritual that can be tailored to any skin type.
